Non-Destructive Testing

Aircraft NDT Inspection

Non-destructive testing detects cracks, corrosion, delamination, and other discontinuities without unnecessarily damaging or disassembling the component. We bring the equipment to your aircraft.

Ultrasonic NDT inspection of an aircraft structure

Section 01

Aircraft NDT Capabilities

  • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
  • Eddy Current Testing (ET)
  • Dye Penetrant Inspection (PT)
  • Composite Tap Testing

Section 02

Aircraft Structures We Inspect

  • Skins, spars, and stringers
  • Fastener rows and attach fittings
  • Composite panels and control surfaces
  • Bonded structures
  • Honeycomb components
  • Radomes and rotor blades

Section 03

Crack & Corrosion Detection

Eddy current and dye penetrant inspection locate surface and near-surface cracks in metallic structure, while ultrasonic methods help evaluate corrosion and thickness loss.

Section 04

Composite Delamination Inspection

Tap testing and ultrasonic inspection identify delamination, disbond, and core damage in composite and bonded structures, defining repair boundaries before any material is removed.

Section 05

Mobile Aircraft NDT

Jax Aerospace is based at Northeast Florida Regional Airport in St. Augustine. Mobile service is available throughout Florida and the Southeast depending on job scope, aircraft location, repair requirements, and equipment. Where a repair is better performed in a controlled environment, components can be brought to our facility.

Section 06

When Aircraft NDT May Be Needed

NDT is performed to the procedures specified in the applicable manufacturer or maintenance data and does not replace those requirements.

  • Suspected impact damage
  • Maintenance or inspection findings
  • Crack indications
  • Corrosion
  • Composite delamination
  • Post-repair inspection
  • Troubleshooting
