Aircraft Radome Repair

Radomes are not ordinary cosmetic composite panels. Their laminate must protect the antenna while passing radar energy with minimal loss, so every repair requires careful control of materials, thickness, and moisture.

Aircraft Radome Damage We Repair

  • Cracks
  • Punctures
  • Hail and impact damage
  • Rain and particle erosion
  • Delamination
  • Moisture intrusion
  • Crushed core
  • Damaged laminate
  • Previous repair areas

Section 02

Composite Radome Repair

Damaged laminate and core are removed and the radome is thoroughly dried before repair, since trapped moisture degrades radar performance. Repair plies and core are matched to the original construction to keep wall thickness and electrical properties within limits.

Section 03

Nose Radome Repair

Nose radomes take the brunt of hail, bird strike, and erosion. We repair laminate damage, restore erosion protection, and refinish with radome-compatible coatings.

Section 04

Radome Inspection

Inspection includes visual, tap, and ultrasonic methods to locate delamination, disbond, and moisture before repair, and to verify the repair afterward.

Section 05

RF Transmissivity Testing

Jax Aerospace performs RF transmissivity testing in-house where required by the applicable maintenance data, so the radome can be verified without sending it to another vendor.

Section 06

Mobile Radome Repair

Jax Aerospace is based at Northeast Florida Regional Airport in St. Augustine. Mobile service is available throughout Florida and the Southeast depending on job scope, aircraft location, repair requirements, and equipment. Where a repair is better performed in a controlled environment, components can be brought to our facility.
