Aircraft Structural & Sheet Metal Repair

Repair of aluminum airframe structure and sheet metal — skins, ribs, spars, stringers, frames, and bulkheads — performed on-site at your hangar to the structural repair manual and published repair data.

Sheet metal repair on an aluminum aircraft structure

Section 01

Aircraft Structural Repair Capabilities

Airframe structural repair restores the strength, stiffness, and load path of the original design. Each repair is evaluated against SRM damage limits and published repair data before work begins.

  • Skins and doublers
  • Ribs, spars, and stringers
  • Longerons, frames, and bulkheads
  • Brackets, clips, and fittings
  • Structural and access panels
  • Fastener removal and replacement
  • Skin and section replacement

Section 02

Sheet Metal & Aluminum Airframe Repair

We fabricate and install repair parts from aluminum sheet and extrusion, matching alloy, temper, and thickness, and install them with solid rivets or approved specialty fasteners according to the repair scheme.

Section 03

Aircraft Skin Repair

Dents, punctures, cracks, and corroded skin are trimmed to sound material and restored with flush or external patches and doublers sized to the applicable repair data, maintaining edge distance and fastener pitch.

Section 04

Cracks, Corrosion & Structural Damage

  • Fatigue cracks at fastener rows and attach points
  • Filiform, pitting, and exfoliation corrosion
  • Ground-handling and hangar rash damage
  • Bird strike and impact damage
  • Deformed or buckled structure

Section 05

Structural Damage Inspection

Structural inspection is supported in-house with eddy current, ultrasonic, and dye penetrant NDT, allowing crack and corrosion extent to be confirmed before and after repair.

Mobile Aircraft Structural Repair

Jax Aerospace is based at Northeast Florida Regional Airport in St. Augustine. Mobile service is available throughout Florida and the Southeast depending on job scope, aircraft location, repair requirements, and equipment. Where a repair is better performed in a controlled environment, components can be brought to our facility.
